All the bill says is "extend" the time that Congress has to come up with a compromise to the Big Beautiful Bill.

Extending the time has been done many times before but it does not fix anything or generate any compromise about the bill itself. Simply stated, it is not an extension but "more time for the same thing to continue to happen".
