If the UN took the time to listen to the IAEA, then the IAEA would advise them that there was no need for Iran to enrich plutonium to 60%, unless you want to do something untoward. Then it takes a very short time to enrich the plutonium to 90%, for nuclear weapons.

Iran has 400kg of enriched plutonium that the IAEA are concerned about, because they don't know where Iran are hiding it. As a dirty bomb, 60% is useless because it's too heavy and the bomb to explode it is too heavy to move about, but 400kg enriched to 90% will make upto 10 nuclear bombs.

So whilst many on the Left want to hug Iran and call the US a nasty pasty, the threat is real. And how do I know all this? An IAEA official explained it on Radio BBC4 when I was driving home.
