Israel lie? One should not even ask.

So why did they officially condemned it?

UNRWA and witnesses shows the lies of Hamas and their supporters, and them using the people as shields.

Palestinian apologists won't be able to hide the truth for long

Maybe you have a link to official statement in the UN/RWA homepage?

Wow! Not too sure I could bring myself to bomb unarmed women and children. I'd either have to be in a total state of depravity or a state of blind rage. In either instance, I'd have to be out of my mind.

You would soon man up when the same women and children were shielding the weapons that were aimed at your family, then it would be a case of them or mine. Not that hard after one of yours has been hurt by the weapons fired by terrorists.

Ex-soldiers reveal the pressure they are put under by their superiors - and question the IDF’s commitment to leaving the unarmed unharmed

Memories of his service along the Gaza border two years ago have been streaming through the mind of Shai Davidovich this week as he hears news from the crowded coastal enclave of heavy Palestinian civilian casualties from the devastating Israeli military campaign there.

Mr Davidovich, 27, the educational director for an ex-soldiers’ group Breaking the Silence, served in field intelligence during Operation Pillar of Cloud, a previous Israeli war against Hamas in Gaza in 2012. He says he was repeatedly ordered to help prepare for the firing of artillery during the hostilities but that he thought it was “crazy’’ to use artillery in a crowded area, in this case the town of Beit Hanoun.

“The news is bringing me back to when we were there and we got orders every day that at 5pm we will shoot artillery. We prepared all day for this, but in the end it didn’t happen. It was surrealistic to see kids playing in Beit Hanoun. With the binoculars we saw a lot of civilians, but I don’t remember that anyone ever spoke about the civilian population. I thought to myself, ‘how can you fire without harming civilians?’

“Artillery is an imprecise weapon. Artillery fire to an area inhabited by civilians cannot be moral"

P F Tinmore, et al,

The UN Official did not say that "No Weapons found in UN Facilities." He was very careful. He said "No school that has been sheltering people or under UN control have there been weapons found in while under the UN's control."

(COMMENT)

What he did not say is just as important.

He did not say that on Tuesday - a stockpile of Hamas rockets was found in one of UNRWA’s Gaza schools — for the third time since the onset of Operation Protective Edge.

He did not mention the use of UN Ambulances and other vehicles to transport fighters and munitions were not used.

He did not say that rockets and mortars were not launch from the immediate proximity of UN facilities, hospitals and other safety zones.

This is a CYA - feel good meeting. It's primary purpose is to lend political support to the HAMAS. It is not about the "truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth."

Yes, in any war zone in which the UN and Red Cross setup safety zones intentionally in the areas used by HAMAS.

Rule 35. Directing an attack against a zone established to shelter the wounded said:
International and non-international armed conflicts

The First and Fourth Geneva Conventions provide for the possibility of setting up hospital and safety zones, and a draft agreement for the establishment of such zones is attached thereto. In addition, the Fourth Geneva Convention provides for the possibility of setting up neutralized zones. Both types of zone are intended to shelter the wounded, the sick and civilians from the effects of conflict, but the hospital and safety zones are meant to be far removed from military operations, whereas neutralized zones are intended for areas in which military operations are taking place.

SOURCE: ICRC Rule #35 IHL Customary Law

It is rather naive of the ICRC of the UN to believe that there is any safe place on the battlefield. Neutral areas, inside the battlefield, are less hazardous, but still subject to conditions that create inadvertent casualties. The mere fact that the UN and ICRC set up such facilities in the middle of hazards is quite dangerous; and they know it. Both the ICRC and UN have evidence through Captured Hamas combat manual, that explains benefits of human shields, that HAMAS has doctrine on the matter.

Any time innocent civilians, especially children, are victims of a combat exchange, it is a tragedy. But that is the ugly side of combat. Everyone concerned needs to grow-up and and learn the consequences of their actions; not just HAMAS and the Israelis, but the ICRC and the UN - with emphasis on the People of Gaza that support their leadership.

Most Respectfully,
R

Clearly both parties have committed War Crimes...The UN should issue warrants and arrest the criminals...I bet there will be more Israelis indicted than Palestinians...

I have to disagree with you on that point. Not so clear.

Hamas does not attack outside its own borders, and does no attack protected persons, i.e. civilians, as defined by the Fourth Geneva Convention.

So, where are the crimes?

That is the point. No active UN facility protecting Palestinians has any weapons. Therefor they are illegal targets.

P F Tinmore, et al,

I don't think there is any evidence to the fact that anyone on the Israeli side called in a "fire mission" on the school.

If the IDF had intentionally targeted the school, it wouldn't be standing.

It wasn't a target.

90% of what comes out of the UN regarding Israel is bullshit.

When it comes to Britian, the hypocrite nation which committed more war crimes than none, make the hypocrisy and bullshit rate 99%. And that is being gentle.

They don't attack within it's own Borders??? :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

If it weren't for Israel's operation Inside Gaza let's discuss what they had in store for Israel

Report: Hamas planned Rosh Hashanah attack through Gaza tunnels | Jewish Telegraphic Agency

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Hamas planned to use the tunnels it dug from Gaza to Israel to execute a massive attack on southern Israel, an Israeli newspaper reported, citing unnamed Israeli security sources.
Under the plan detailed Friday by the Hebrew-language Maariv daily, Hamas planned to send terrorists through the more than 30 tunnels uncovered by Israeli troops and into six southern Israeli communities on Rosh Hashanah in September of this year.
The plan was to kill and kidnap as many Israelis as possible, according to the report.
