UK is a Republic, the true head-of-state is the PM, and he's elected by the people ... but we shall see ... "every time Parliament makes a law, it's a joke; and every time Parliament makes a joke, it's a law" ... the power still exists for the monarch to refuse to sign a law ... and they're not voted in by the people ...
