As a 6' 2", 250 pound blacksmith, I wouldn't get many dates as woman so, yes , I'm of the male gender and have no plans to change.

By the way, I was surprised at the number of women who are impressed by blacksmithing..... go figure.

Yes, blacksmithing is ideal if you like your women like your work:

.....hot, dirty and dangerous.

Actually, I've seen a few women who are very accomplished blacksmith/artists.

Multiple medical issues slow me down now but I looked forward to designing and making wrought iron gates, andirons, wine racks with grape vines, African animals, an occasional cannon and reproduction museum pieces etc while working full time.

Finally, thanks for the film history lesson, I remember Gunsmoke but had forgotten about Burt Reynolds role as a blacksmith/farrier (farriers shoe horses and blacksmiths make other things)
