Well this nullifies the trump tariffs to a large extent. India is a lot bigger market and is growing.
I hope that it bodes well for prosperity in both countries.
The UK is dependent on India for many things. Not least Doctors and Nurses who keep us well.

Sounds like you're crediting TRUMP for finalizing deal the UK and India having been working on for 3 years.
Also notice the focus is bring back jobs to the UK, which is exactly what TRUMP is doing for the US.

I asked you in previous threads but will try one more time to get an answer.

Why is it okay for the UK and other countries to use forms of tariffs in the EXACT same way you criticize TRUMP over?

Tommy,

Looks like India won this one...

UK get Auto and Beverages
And Whiskey is just being reduced to 40%... Cars 10%....

That is 530m a year

---

India gets all Textile which is 1.2bn... No Tariff...

--------------

Sorry Mate, this looks like a India penned deal... UK just don't have the EU power of previous deals... UK actually negotiated a lot of the EU deals before... It is a real shame...

--------------

All is forgiven, everyone knows the pricks of politicians lied to the UK people... EU Citizens know politicians lie, just learn not to be so gullible...

India, where it is being produced, owns Royal Enfield, a former British motorcycle company

I think they have as well. But it offsets the US nonsense. We are unlikely to get a decent deal outside the EU.

What are you going to send them, Muslims?

The deal also includes a double contributions convention (DCC) - which will mean Indian workers coming to Britain, and British workers going to India, will not have to pay national insurance contributions in both countries for the first three years.

Furthermore, a new cap on the number of Indian professionals who can come to the UK - musicians, chefs, and yogis - was agreed as part of the negotiations.

Robert Jenrick hit out at the deal, saying: "Starmer has hiked National Insurance on Brits while giving an exemption to Indian migrants.

"British workers come last in Starmer’s Britain.”

LBC.

The reciprocal tax arrangements are pretty standard in trade agreements. jenrick is a bit of a joke not to know that.

Indian companies own large parts of british industry. Those bikes would not be made at all if not in India.

Tariffs are generally a bad thing.Sometimes they do have a use. For example when protesting slave labour or animal welfare.
But trump isnt doing that. He is kust throwing shit at the wall hoping some of it will stick.

I understand

Royal Enfield produced bikes in India for decades before going bankrupt in the UK

Reports are the Infians make a very good machine

But its no longer British and thsts unfortunate

A Question: What is India buying from UK? There is a trade deficit for UK but that is not necessarily a bad thing...

But lets get a bit realistic... UK - India trade is half of trade with Ireland... That is only one country in Europe...

I think Stamer should just join the EEA... EFTA is a bit messy...

The Brexit Referendum said nothing about being members of EEA.
