The United Auto Workers filed an unfair labor practice charge against Donald Trumpâs campaign and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday after the former president advocated for firing striking employees during an interview on X.
âThey go on strike, I wonât mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, âThatâs OK, youâre all gone,â Trump said in the Monday interview with Musk, who also owns the social media platform. âYouâre all gone. So, every one of you is gone.â
Firing striking employees or threatening to do so is a violation of the National Labor Relations Act. Trumpâs comments came amid his efforts to make inroads with rank-and-file union members despite most major unions â including the UAW â endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
The former presidentâs comments were among several rambling rants he went on during his highly anticipated conversation with Musk.
Backlash: UAW President Shawn Fain called Trump a âscabâ in a statement attacking him for siding with Musk, who is contributing to a super PAC supporting Trumpâs bid for the White House.
It does look like Republicans are determined to lose this election. First, they go with a guy who is a convicted felon. A guy who encouraged his supporters to storm the Capitol because he couldn't bear to be called a loser.
Then the Republicans made sure to restrict or ban abortion access; if that wasn't enough, they nominated a vice presidential candidate whose primary agenda seems to be provoking outrage among women! This is on top of Trump openly bragging about grabbing pussy!
So, first, it was women; now it's unions. What other groups are the Republicans going to turn against?
