As of last year, according to the Climate Action Tracker, the number of countries that are meeting their contribution is ZERO! Well, it is hard to actually have a discussion when the person who created this thread seems to have the conversational ability of a two year old.

And no, that is not intended as any kind of insult, but it's like trying to talk to my grandson or my own kids at that age. Using as few words as possible, and just assuming I know what they are thinking without actually saying it.

It would be if I went into a sports thread, and simply said "What are LA's chances this year?" Well, it might help just a little bit if I actually included exactly what sport I was talking about! Football, Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, Women's Basketball, what? And in many of those sports LA actually has more than one team, so which one?

There are over two dozen professional sports teams in LA.

When starting a conversation, it is expected to actually provide some kind of context. And I have a bit of an idea what they mean, but was asking for more context so I know exactly what they mean. And they have provided none of that. Who is collecting data, for who, and why? What exactly changed?

I actually asked, and just got a repeat of the initial statement with absolutely zero additional context. At this point, I am simply shaking my head at the "Txt Gnr8ion" and the apparent widespread problem of the loss of functional literacy.

There is a center somewhere that researches climate change and conducts environmental data analysis that recently lost all its government funding, and a renewed call by environmentalists suggesting that the world will end quicker if we don't put them back in business.

I wish I could give you better details, but I don't remember where the center is and went to look it up when I asked myself why the hell I was doing that when I had already looked into it and it was a bunch of garbage, as well as to the extent I cannot even remember what the name of the outfit was.

Oh no-no-no-no-no. That is not how it works at all. You are trying to present a case for something, therefore it is up to you to present the actual facts relevant to your stance. This is not Idiocracy, where one can simply make some kind of statement and force others to research it.

And then I see not only extremely vague comments, but then more than a bit of TDS behind it. If you look, this is a science area. If you want to pontificate about politics, there are tons of political areas here you can perform all the mental masturbation you want over BDS or TDS. Or AOCDS, or any other political mental impairment somebody may have.

But to answer what you said here, good!

I do not give a damn what a grant is for, the intent of a grant is primarily to start a new research program, or to provide additional funding so it can continue or to give some funding to complete a research program. They are expected to continue based upon funding from other financial sources. If a program (any program) can not exist or continue without grant money, then it probably was not a well thought out program in the first place.
