Scientifically illiterate and agenda-driven journalists can ruin what is actually a valid story. Today’s example is the coverage of the Bayou Corne sinkhole, an ongoing environmental situation of considerable concern at the Napoleonville Salt Dome in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. About 350 residents of the quiet community of Bayou Corne have been evacuated from their homes since the sinkhole’s sudden formation nearly a year ago.

Given what we see here on this thread concerning the very real present effects of global warming, 'Consevatives' cannot really say much about scientifically ignorant reporting or posting.

Besides, were I to be interested in that particular problem, I would go to a geology report, rather than the writings of a person trained only in journalism. From the so called 'Ice age' of the '70's to the present reporting on the effects of the retreat of the Arctic Ice means to us, journalist routinely get it all wrong.

As we approach the end of August, there have been no Atlantic hurricanes. By this date in the year 1886, there had already been seven hurricanes – including three major hurricanes, one of which wiped the city of Indianola, Texas off the map.

One in 5 Republicans believe Romney should get credit for taking down Bin Laden. 40% of GOP in New Orleans believe people suffered because Obama was slow getting them help after Katrina. M. Bachmann says vaccines cause autism. Santorum said, "Obama wants all Americans to have an education. What a snob". Only 6% of scientists are Republican. The GOP believes that the vast majority of scientists are liberal liars who work for the government but do nothing.

You can't reason with these people. They believe climate change isn't happening because the world is "too big" for man to "affect". Course that line of reasoning blows up with two words, "nuclear bomb".
