It would be interesting if someone followed these people to see what percentage applied for welfare and public assistance as a result of being fired, admitted or were found out what the reasons were for losing their job, then were STILL APPROVED for public assistance anyway.

Technically, doing so would be essentially like approving of their actions, then making the public responsible for them.

A secondary interesting study would be to find out just which companies hired them for some other job (in education?) despite knowing why they were fired.

LET US BE CLEAR HERE: Firing these people should not be over political retribution. It should not be over political brownie points. It should not be deemed a trampling of free speech leading to fascism.
