- No hard proof exists. After years of investigation by journalists, bloggers, and political opponents, no one has produced definitive documentation (birth records, DNA, family records) establishing a sibling relationship.
- The circumstantial "proof" is crap … mainly deleted social media posts preserved only in screenshots by partisan actors, and Omar's own reluctance to discuss the matter.
- Omar's refusal to be transparent is suspicious to some, but it's also consistent with someone who simply doesn't want to dignify a politically motivated allegation or expose her family to further scrutiny.
- The immigration motive is weak. As noted, there's no record Elmi even used the marriage to obtain immigration benefits, undermining the alleged purpose of the fraud.
- Despite having government power, the Trump administration (in both terms) and federal investigators have not produced evidence confirming the claim.
