I think Nick went to the home needing a lot of money to live on and father Rob sick and tired of it, got angry, refused hoping it would force Nick to go out and get onto his feet and a fight broke out ending in Nick stabbing his parents.
Read he has a long history of violent outbursts.

He spent so much of his time obsessed with Trump and publicly denouncing him, creating podcasts to demean him, that he apparently missed all of the signs of his son going into a psychotic spiral. Maybe if he had put more time into his son's issues instead of focusing on Trump all of the time, things may have turned out differently.

No, he's exactly right. Meathead was the definition of TDS.
Those special Progs are protected from the outside, even if they want to take protection from the peasants. This was an inside job. I gotta say. If more of these Hollywood people ought the farm, after all of the years of the smearing and destroying from them, many Republican voters are not going to cry. The pain from a family member with drug problems there is sympathy for though.
