Tipperary’s Colin O’Riordan — who helped his county to an All-Ireland U21 final this year — will travel to Melbourne alongside Kilkenny’s Darragh Joyce in October to take part in the Australian Football League (AFL) Draft Combine.

Taking place over four days, the combine will be monitored by all 18 AFL Premiership clubs hoping to unearth the next young Irish prospect.

19-year old O’Riordan — who is a dual All-Ireland minor winner — told the Irish Independent this morning that it was a “once in a lifetime opportunity” he just couldn’t pass up.
