And why would BLM want to defund the police to begin with since they are the biggest consumers of police resources.

BLM are Democrats — Blacks who are satisfied with a "limited hangout" in the framework of the KKK/Establishment dominated political party of Chicago's City Hall.

The Democrats wanted votes so they agreed with the BLM folks even though the idea in and of itself is preposterous.

Democrats attempt to curry the favor of drug-addicted or homeless jobless voters too poor to have any taxable income or property, but they create a poverty trap impossible to escape, and that's by design, to preserve their voting base downtown.

Republicans are generally the party who would favor lowering taxes and to some degree "defunding" the police and other departments of city, county, state, and federal government, and creating more local business opportunities and jobs.
