If you want a serious discussion I'd submit to you that over 90% of all drugs come in through ports of entry by US citizens and not in some mule's backpack run across the desert. The best way to lower the drugs coming in is through increased investment in technology and staffing at our ports of entry - incidentally something the last 3 democratic proposals have included.

Regardless, drugs will never be wiped out from existence and as long as they exist affordable treatment programs and a pathway that doesnt include jail for users is what needs to be addressed. I have sympathy for families struggling with it. As a leader for a large church we saw good suburban Christian families suffering from the ill effects of drugs in the youth.
