TUMWATER, Wash. — The Tumwater girls' track team raised eyebrows at the State Track Championships on Saturday for what they did after the race.
In photos that are widely circulating online, multiple students can be seen on the medals podium wearing t-shirts “Keep Women’s Sports Female.” Adults, who appear to be coaches, can be seen smiling in the frame. It came after a transgender student beat the team in multiple races.
Veronica Garcia, of East Valley in Spokane, won the 400-meter girls' state title for the second year in a row.
