Tell you what, I’m a seventy year old, over the hill, out of shape defensive lineman. Join me on a football field and watch me smear you all over the field as you attempt to play offensive line even if you are thirty years younger and in good shape.

You're comparing a shot put competition to wanting to "smear" someone on a football field?

My point is this...yep, the female athletes got a raw deal on this one. There was little hope of winning. Almost no hope at all.
Its a middle school track meet. What in the world would be the harm in tossing your shot put?

If this was a HS meet and a scholarship was on the line, do you honestly (if you can somehow shake your head loose and rise above the decay which has taken place) believe that having a DNP or 0.0' mark is better than having some record of participation?

Nope, I’m just pointing out how stupid it is to put women and men up against each other in any physical activity. As for the harm, it’s far better for your self respect to stand up for your beliefs than knuckle under.
