Any democrat can say anything but they’re all ultimately held hostage by AGW and its economic destruction and socialist aims; racism and segregation; gender and homo issues and the fatherlessness and social demise caused by all of the above; blaming the police for crime; anti-gun advocacy; usurping American culture and blaming America for anti-American terrorism and murder.
You are not familiar with Gabbards policy positions.
She is a moderate and wants AGW corrections but done in a way to not damage industry, though she is willing to goad energy companies into smaller profit margins for a short time.
Tulsi supports the OFF Act which is a more moderate approach to leaving fossil fuels over a 16 year period and has funded efforts to protect job availability.
"The OFF Act transitions the U.S. to 100% clean and renewable energy by 2035 and includes provisions to stimulate the economy and transition workers to jobs in the renewable energy sector."
I dont see a need to transition that quickly but if we use Thorium Molten Salt Reactors as the new backbone of our energy grid it is plenty of time.
She is
progun rights but thinks we can do more to regulate guns, and I agree, though the devil is in the details, as always. But the key point is that she only wants BIPARTISAN gun control legislation, which means in effect it would be moderated.
"In working towards enacting real gun control measures, Tulsi is focusing on bipartisan measures that have a chance of actually becoming passed into law, rather than using the issue as a political football."
As far as Immigration reform goes, she is pro-DACA Dreamers, but wants the laws respected, and is against open borders.
But these are issues that are bgroiler plate Democrat issues that wont change anything in law because Tulsi is committed to using bipartisanship to pass laws, and not steamroll the opposition.
But here are the issues I totally agree with her on that need to happen:
1)
Breaking up the Too Big To Fail Banks.
2)
Removing direct or indirect corporate contributions to our elections.
3)
Her defense of Religious Freedom
Tulsi has stated: “Our country’s Founding Fathers invoked our
inalienable God-given right to life and liberty, and enshrined that right of freedom of religion in our U.S. Constitution, recognizing that
everyone must be free to follow his or her conscience without fear of persecution. This right is something that comes from God, bestowed on every one of us, no matter who we are or where we are from, and
which no one has the right or ability to take away.
“It is truly wonderful that embedded in the very bedrock of our nation is this recognition of free will; of this intrinsic right of every individual to worship God as one chooses, or to not worship God; to adhere to any spiritual path or to no spiritual path. No one can make that decision for another person. It is our duty to guard and protect the right of all people to worship or not worship according to their conscience. This is the nature of love. Every person has the freedom to choose to give their heart and give their life to God or not. You can't force someone to love God, or to love anyone.” <- Tulsi is against the anti-Christian intolerance that is so widespread in the secular leadership of this country today.
4)
End regime change wars
5)
Restore Glass Steagal
6)
End the failed war on drugs and stop privatizing prisons
7)
Legalize Marijuana
8)
Stop the plague of Sex Trafficking
9)
Protect and improve our drinking water resources - she is about the only one talking about this
10)
Campaign finance reform to clean up and protect our election methodology
11)
Against trade deals that would lose American jobs
12) W
ants tighter relationship with India <- Trump does too, but this is critical for our future foreign policy. India will become more important to us than the degenerate and corrupt EU.
13)
Protect our veterans and continue improvements to VA
I also admire and feel uplifted by Gabbards idealism and belief in America. I think she would be a great leader for our nation after so much partisan rancor and bile.
But my single greatest reason for wanting Gabbard to succeed is that she would represent a shift away from the Marxist far left wing of the Democratic party. She is a patriot, a veteran and she would help to pull the democratic Pary back into the realm of America First patriotic policies.
In a two party political system, allowing one of those parties to be run by communists is a very risky and intolerable situation and it has to be addressed.
Gabbard gaining the Democratic nomination is the way to do that.
