Hillary is stepping into this fight beat down, broken and confused. She will most likely take the nom before California polls close. She cannot afford a close split decision like the one she just had even if she wins the split. Her party elite are demanding a show of momentum. The closer the split the greater her weakness.
Second problem. IF and I say IF she wins in the east and comes out claiming to be the "one" and suffers a loss in California hours later well that does not bode well for her on the convention floor and the press will have a field day with the loss.
She maybe best suited to keep her mouth shut until AFTER California but as we all know that ego maniac can't do that. So that wish is moot.
Real Clear politics has Clinton ahead by 6, one point outside the margin of error.
Wall Street Journal has her by 3, one point inside the margin of error. Tuesday night she cannot afford a loss anywhere or even a close win because Sanders will have all the ammo he needs to take to the convention floor.
And the biggest loser of the night? Debbie Wasserman Shultz, because no matter how it ends up she looks like the biggest horses ass in politics. And she has to unite the party at a time when Sanders is calling for her to be fired. How did the DNC wind up this screwed?
EASY, they let a socialist/communist run as a democrat. Had they insisted he run as a socialist or even an independent we would not be talking about him now. Democrats opened "Pandora's Box" inside the DNC and this is just their first headache.
