Two words: "Engineering solutions."

I guarantee that there will be engineering solutions to just about any and every negative impact that the climate has in store for us. It might be a sea wall built around Manhattan, engine types that do not burn hydrocarbons, improved methods of seawater desalination, more efficient home construction, whatever.

Forcing citizens to pay twice the actual cost for fuel today, a practice that hits the working class right where it hurts, is foolish in the extreme.
