It's a slippery slope to be issuing driver's licenses to people in the country illegally, but to be issuing CDLs takes it to a whole other level. Driving a big rig presents a risk in of itself. Throwing in the added challenges of not understanding all the rules or possibly the language on the signs heightens the dangers on the roadways. We've already seen a few accidents caused by truck drivers in the country illegally who were issued CDLs. Revoking these throughout the country should not be a controversial issue.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today exposed that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)’s review of Illinois’ non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) program found nearly 1-in-5 licenses to have been issued illegally. Illinois has 30 days to come into compliance and revoke the illegally issued licenses—or risk losing $128 million in federal highway funding.

Its only funny until they U-turn on the freeway in front of you.

I read the link....and it implies these people had CDL licenses of which I am presuming they had to pass a test to get, and papers to be here legally but then their visas expired, so now they have licenses, but are here illegally?

So, I think they should.... know the rules of the road??

I agree they should lose their license if their US Visa expires.....wonder why they let their visas expire? And how that works? Time for me to Google....

It's all pay-to-play. Where have you been?

" We've already seen a few accidents caused by truck drivers in the country illegally who were issued CDLs." and we've all seen accidents caused by truck drivers born here or even in the country legally who were issued CDLs.

I have issues with Truck Drivers today because few are trained as a generation before them and with the advent of new technologies .. Nobody is paying attention.

I've seen a few horrific accidents involving semis on the California desert roads.

Revoking many licenses is not a controversial issue. It's how it is to be done, and this administration long ago lost the trust of nobody with a brain. The Trump admin cannot be trusted

I wouldn't believe any of Trump's goons if they told me the sun was coming up tomorrow.

All well and good but unless people involved are punished? It's all theatrics... anyone else tired of theatrics?

Next time I vote it'll be for someone who also is tired of it

How much nicer was the U.S. when truckers were named Cletus and Cooter instead of Muhammad and Humberto?
Diversity ALWAYS destroys.
