For the last few years many Trump supporters have refused the COVID vaccine, calling it the clot shot, and blaming it for any random death that seems out of the ordinary. Governors like Kemp and DeSantis were praised for opening their states back up after two weeks, but Trump and his SG pick criticized them for it. Trump's supporters also largely opposed masks and social distancing regulations.

Most physicians did trust the science and Fauci in the beginning. My wife did as did her colleagues. A cardiologist friend did as well, that is until he started seeing an influx of inexplicable heart issues in new, young(<50), vaccinated patients. He then decided he wasn’t getting any boosters or further COVID vaccines. My wife and her MD colleagues did the same as boosters were not mandated by the hospital system. Some people learn, some people don’t. MD’s aren’t excluded and aren’t impervious to indoctrination.

Also, practicing physicians are taking care of patients. They don’t have time to research. They are all but forced to believe the science. Many are much more skeptical than ever because they don’t like being lied it and they realize that “science” has been heavily politicized.
