Trump's RNC speech could've been better

His speech could've been much more eloquent and less segmented. First of all, Trump should've made the assassination attempt more about the crowd and America. He should've conveyed the assassination attempt as an attack on the American people. Trying to deprive America of a candidate to vote for at a rally is a direct attack on the 1st amendment: freedom of speech, assembly and ability to petition the government. He did a good job commending the crowd for not panicking and causing more chaos, though.

That would flow into Trump honoring Corey Comperatore and then referencing 9/11. The speakers before him spoke about Trump's past and achievements. Trump was there on 9/11, ground zero and spoke fondly of the construction crews, police and firefighters at the time. Trump could've said that Corey Comperatore reminded him of all the brave firefighters on 9/11, of which some paid the ultimate price, to make America a safer place. The follow up to that would be saying that terrorism and political violence has no place in America.

Overall, the rest of his speech was pretty much the same as all the other ones at his rallies. He certain could've been more conciliatory to give the liberal media less ammo to use against him. Even if he did manage to do that, the liberal media would've said something like that was a "sign of weakness". Trump no doubt has political passion, but I think it would've benefitted him to make his speech less like the usual sales pitch that he gives.

I didn't actually see it but from what I've heard it was kind of rambling. And, he should have stuck with the unity theme. I was kind of hoping that the family of the dead victim would make an appearance but I'm sure they were kind of busy. It would been very profound if Trump had gotten up there and said he forgave the shooter. I'm sure not everyone would agree with me on that one.

It needed more lies. 20+ wasn't enough.

he stood up shit in his pants then lied for the longest acceptance speech in history, literally without nothing to say at all he spoke for the longest time in history. The normal shit in his pants and shit out of his mouth.

also you have to be a complete idiot on the level of shitpants to even follow along with what Trump says in all his speeches. . , its made for stupid people by a stupid person.

The guy not long before then came a **** hair away from having his brains blown out.

Considering he still showed up all 3 days and was as vibrant and on point as he was is a great sign.

I think he earned a little slack on what your opinion is of his speech.

LOL come on. The beginning was awesome. He was funny, he went through all the policy differences. He lasted 90 minutes. Joe can’t even last 5 minutes trying to do a speech.
He choked again. Everything this two-bit grifter touches turns to shit, including his own speech.

By the end, I felt like even he was bored. After improvising for way too long, he ambled back to his prepared text, which inexplicably veered off into a Revolutionary War deep-dive.

But there are two big-picture takeaways for me.

First, this was a strongman performance. Trump simply repeated over and over that every problem, real or perceived, was within his power to fix (no details given). Immigration, inflation, even cancer. He promised to magically make it all disappear, while building an “iron dome” around the United States to protect it from missile attacks.

He even boasted that when he was president, “I could stop wars with just a telephone call.”

LOL Some LA Times twat?

"LOL Some LA Times twat?"
-----------------------------------------------------

T'wasn't just the LATimes. Other astute observers were skeptical of Trump's performance.
Here's what Chris Wallace said, and David Brooks in the New York Times, and others:

  • Brooks: "There is no cure for narcissism. The part after the assassination-attempt story was one of the truly awful and self-indulgent political performances of our time."

  • Wallace: “It seemed as if he couldn’t keep up the act,” ......“And so, we started hearing about ‘crazy Nancy Pelosi’ and cheating on elections and talking about Biden.”“Frankly, it was a long speech, it was a rambling speech, it was a speech by an older man..."

  • The Guardian: "Trump again promised “the largest deportation operation in the history of our country” and pledged that his deportations would be “even larger than that of president Dwight D Eisenhower from many years ago

  • Washington Post: "He had a chance tonight, coming out of the tragedy in Pennsylvania, to address his biggest weakness: his divisiveness. He had a chance to broaden his appeal considerably without losing any of his base. But he made a few noises about unity, blamed Democrats, took responsibility for nothing and then devolved into a dark and ranting rally.

How about Trump's own former White House Counsel's take on it?
Certainly NOT an "LA Times twat" right?

When Trump closed out the final evening of the 2024 Republican National Convention on Thursday night, he briefly tried on for size a marginally less aggrieved persona. Five days after he was grazed in the ear by a gunman’s bullet, the twice-impeached former commander-in-chief promised an arena’s worth of GOP delegates and millions of people watching at home that if he were to return to power, he would serve as “president for all of America, not half of America.”

But after a frenzied appearance by pro wrestler and noted union-buster Hulk Hogan, who ripped off his shirt mid-speech to emphasize his MAGA bona fides, and an apparently lip-synched performance by Kid Rock, the crowd clearly wanted to hear the hits.

So, after less than a half-hour of the “new” Trump, he reverted to form for the rest of his rambling 93-minute address, veering wildly off-script for, in the words of one commentator, “one of the truly awful and self-indulgent political performances of our time.” The newly minted felon spent the next 90-plus minutes tossing MAGA fans the hunks of the red meat they craved: “Crazy Nancy Pelosi” is a scourge on the nation, Joe Biden is the “worst” president in U.S. history, Democrats rigged the 2020 election, the “Russia, Russia, Russia” investigation into Trump’s alleged Kremlin ties was a “hoax,” and undocumented immigrants are “stealing” jobs from Black Americans, among incendiary but wholly untrue proclamations.

Donald Trump's 'Remarkably Dishonest' RNC Speech Exposed By CNN Fact-Checker

CNN’s fact-checking reporter Daniel Dale on Thursday debunked and corrected just some of the false claims that were made by former president and GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump during his address at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Trump’s 92-minute speech was “remarkably long” and “remarkably dishonest,” Dale told anchor Jake Tapper.

^^ All dumb lefty cucks.

So because Trumps speech was long, we should vote for Biden? LOL

Low profile, lower energy was PERFECT! Democrats are in complete meltdown mode so stay out of the way and avoid anything that forces the attention off that! :muahaha:

President Trump's job was to not say anything that to took the media focus off the assassination attempt and the Biden debacle.

And that's exactly what he did.

Couldn't have gone any better.

Of course anything that comes out of Biden's mouth is going to be worse. But it's important to not let MSNBC and etc be the only one's playing the Devil's advocate for the sake of continuous improvement. I brought up 9/11 because it was a very somber day for all Americans (except for a handful of sickos). During that period, any current or former President being assassinated would've been a somber day for almost all Americans too.

If President Trump was assassinated, there would been a lot of people, who are affected by the liberal mind virus, snickering and laughing. The chaos that ensued could've created a death toll higher than 9/11. So it's important to let some people know how twisted their minds have become.

Exaggerate much? Why would there be any chaos? What exactly did you have in mind? Do you think crowds would swarm Biden's home in Delaware and try to hang him from a streetlight?

No, I watched the entire speech myself.

Your hunched over weak and tired old fart is a mental mess on a night where I expected him at his best. if that Don Trump’s best Dems are in great shape

Trump said nothing about saving baby fetus. The white Christian Right was expecting a whole lot more.

America needs the MAGA fundagelicals to withdraw their unholy alliance with Don Trump.

For what. - Revealed desert religions meant little to most of the founders.
You SAY you watched the entire speech but your next sentence makes that either a lie or you have a huge problem relating to reality because of your TDS affliction.. You really don't know what the 'Christian right' was expecting, you're just projecting your hatred. The rest of your post is nothing but 'Orange Man Bad.' You anti Trumpers are such haters.
