News reports the guy mortgaged his house to raise the money to pay Stormy Daniels.

He said he hasn't been reimbursed.

Trump said he knew nothing about the payment.

If Trump gives him the money, then Trump will be guilty of violating campaign finance laws.

As it stands right now, only Cohen is liable.

And this is why Trump and Cohen wants to move the case to a federal court. Because of Cohen is found guilty of anything, Trump can pardon him (Cohen).

In the meantime, Cohen has to pay mortgage on a house and can't accept the money from Trump. At least not until the statute of limitations runs out.

Trump lawyer Cohen reportedly complained to associates that Stormy Daniels payment had not been reimbursed

I'm assuming that by this time, Cohen has his own lawyer. I wonder what he thinks?

Does that mean "campaign funds violation" rhetoric will cease?

Depends. Cohen gave more than a hundred thousand passed the legal limit.

He could be the one going to jail. And the courts don't look kindly on men who misuse the law for personal gain. If Trump can't pardon him, he could spend many years in prison.
So what choice will he make? Trump or prison?

"If it helps you win an election" -- if that is the guiding principle, then all our politicians should be in jail.

You are being very unattractive. "If it helps you win an election" can be almost anything, not just paying off porn stars.

So paying off porn stars is OK?
