The two objectives that the ACA was passed with were the acceptance of "pre-existing" conditions and the individual mandate. Once ensured that EVERYONE could get health insurance no matter their condition of health, and the other made sure that everyone participated so that costs could be kept "lower". Was the ACA perfect?...no. But it did deserve further discussion and making alterations and additions to it. It was a foundation. Nothing else. But...it became a political football. A first world country...with the worst (now) healthcare system run by insurance companies that look at profit and nothing else................
