Trump’s Georgia campaign director resigns after agreeing to plea deal in battery case

The state director of the Trump-Pence campaign in Georgia resigned late Tuesday after accepting a plea bargain in a case where he was accused of vandalism, assault and trespassing, reports WSB.

Director Brandon Phillips stepped down after agreeing to a criminal trespassing charge after prosecutors dropped the battery and felony criminal damage charges.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department, Philips was arrested for destroying one person’s laptop and slashing another person’s tires.

Additionally Phillips was accused of causing, “visible bodily harm, to wit: cuts and bruises to the head and torso of Nicholas Dugger.”
