Now that America finally has a POTUS with the balls to do something about it, they want everything resolved immediately while the whole world, including half of America works against him. And this is just one of the myriad problems that politicians have been saying for decades that they need to do something about and never do. Like illegal immigration. Yes, this is a pull back, but that is a good thing, and happening in the nick of time. It is already happening in the fresh food market. But in the food industry, after Covid, companies have learned to adapt, supply chains are more lean, open, and responsive.

But on the hardline side of retail, think clothes, hardware, durable goods. Most companies are looking at a 45 day window, 45 days to order stock for the shelves. It would jump that 45 day to sixty if they had to seek an alternative provider. We are talking empty store shelves at the beginning of the return to school shopping season. Pretty sure that is what those CEO's told the president.

I think I know why Trump decided to go all in and wreak havoc on the status quo. Imagine if he had just started with one thing, like tariffs on China.
