Whatever mental corruption happened to Joe was post service. He wouldn’t have survived Basic with his attitudes. The system is designed to create soldiers, not whiny weaklings. Of course that assumes he actually served. He reminds me of one kid in my unit, he just couldn’t learn to think before acting and blamed everyone else when he continually failed. We managed to get him a General Discharge rather than the Bad Conduct one our CO wanted. I hope his life worked out better than his military service.

Nope, I was in for 11 years and got out at the rank of SSG (E-6).

I was actually pretty Republican and right-wing until 2008.

Then George W. Stupid left me with an underwater mortgage, a busted 401K, and my employer downsized me after I had a medical issue.
