Some, but they're exceptions to the rule and only if it's not too much trouble. You want to make child care more affordable, get the fucking feds out of it. Every time you start throwing money at an issue, it gets more expensive for the consumer, without fail.

Working class families are choosing not to have kids or have just one, because of the lack of availability or affordability of child care. Maybe the fed could give grants to communities in need of more childcare, to build more childcare centers where the local govts deem critical?

You want to reduce costs, get the feds out of it altogether. Than means money and regulations. It's not a federal responsibility and they have no constitutional authority on the matter, it's an issue for the States..

The EITC has been found to actually increase productivity. This is what the great conservative economist Milton Friedman referred to as the "negative income tax".

Foundation is losing. Selfishness rules now. We are not as family oriented as in the past. And people may live far from each other in this age. However, the cheapest way to raise a family is the old ways. And we will return to that someday.
