Working class families are choosing not to have kids or have just one, because of the lack of availability or affordability of child care. Maybe the fed could give grants to communities in need of more childcare, to build more childcare centers where the local govts deem critical?Some, but they're exceptions to the rule and only if it's not too much trouble. You want to make child care more affordable, get the fucking feds out of it. Every time you start throwing money at an issue, it gets more expensive for the consumer, without fail.

I agree that handing out money to pay for it, can just lead to higher prices....And does not solve the problem of the supply side, the shortage that causes the problem and affordability...
