And there was none. For Obstruction to occur there has to be an underlying crime and there wasn't one.
That is a simple fact that clearly you will never get through your ever so thick skulls. Collusion, if it had occurred, and we know it didn't, is not a crime.
Duh!
Potential crimes were being investigated. That's all that's needed. No one need be prosecuted with any charges for Trump to be found guilty of obstruction. Hell, no one even needs to be charged with an underlying crime.
Really? NAME THEM!
For one, the investigation into Flynn in connection with false statements about his conversations with the Russian ambassador in December.
Trump Team Knew Flynn Was Under Investigation Before He Came to White House
Which is about flynn. Not trump. Point out a single supposed crime that Trump is supposed to have done.
So what if it was about Flynn? It was an active investigation and Trump tried to stop it. Was it obstruction? That's for Mueller to decide. If it were just that one instance, it would likely amount to nothing; but by now, there is a pattern established.
First, Trump asks Comey to drop the investigation. Comey doesn't and he gets fired. The administration offers no less than three different explanations. Trump's explanation includes the investigation as one of his reasons. Then Trump tried to shut Comey up by warning him there could be tapes of their conversations.
Any one of those alone would be nothing. But taken all together, it paints a picture of the president trying to shut down an investigation into people associated with him and his campaign.
That's obstruction.
Fortunately for Trump, that's also nothing but my opinion. Mueller's opinion is no doubt different. But if Mueller believed Trump tried to interfere with the investigation, Trump is fucked. And not in a good way.
