I have forgotten, when did anyone on the left send active duty troops to control any cities on U.S. soil?

In the case of DC, the rules work differently from other cities. As for the rest of the country, Posse Comitatus has criteria for using soldiers domestically.

For example, it allowed Eisenhower to use the military to enforce protection of students in Arkansas during desegregation efforts. While Eisenhower wasn't on the left, this endeavor was certainly on the social left of the time.

Personal biases aside, Trump's revelatory 'Access Hollywood; tape, his inciting his goons to attack police at the Capitol after he lost in 2020, and his sounding the alarm against Black immigrants eating pet cats and dogs are among the distinctions, in addition to his being a court-established sexual abuser, business fraud, and convicted felon, that make him truly unique.

Obama has highest favorability rating of living presidents​

When considering how much the media hates Trump and how much it worshipped Obama, I'm actually surprised Trump has been able to manage approval ratings as high as he has and that Obama's aren't even higher than what your link shows.

America is a heavily propagandized country in many respects, so approval ratings of presidents often reflect the biases of the majority of the media. Also, most historians have a left bias, just like academics in general. They also tend to lean statist and globalist.
