Trump threatens ‘harsh measures’ if convicted GOP election denier Tina Peters not freed

What should he do, if anything, to Colorado?
Zinco; INVESTIGATE with the FBI if he identifies a possible miscarriage of Justice and go the Appeals Route. It is also under appeal.

Ticktin, a Florida-based attorney and longtime friend of President Donald Trump, said he was willing to drop several claims the magistrate judge said were not yet handled by the State Court of Appeals and should be. The petitioners are still hoping to claim in federal court that Peters' sentencing in a state court was a violation of her 1st Amendment rights because they claim the judge at her trial factored in the potential that not putting Peters in jail would allow her to speak publicly about the election security.

So if the election was secure then why stop Peter's talking about it?

Greg

What rights? I don't know if she has appealed. Thats expensive.
She most definitely HAS appealed. I would even suggest Civil Rights Actions comin' round the bend!!

Greg

Stopfunding,
Stopping funding to a state for someone convicted of multiple felonies benefitting you? Interesting.

investigate the executive branch that is holding her for civil rights violations, lots of things the feds can do to a state
What civil rights violations?

You said she was locked up for denying the election

On what planet besides Venezuela is that ok??

I agree, but the punishment must fit the crime. And has she completred the appeals process? Let's see if her RIGHTS have been violated; that's FEDERAL Offenses. Sic em, Kash!!!

Of course if you're NOT into really enforcing the LAW then that is another matter.

Greg
Compromised Kash isn't playing for our team and Dan is a coward.

What was her crime?

Convicted of four felonies.

On August 12, a Mesa County jury found her guilty of three felony counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one felony count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, one misdemeanor count of official misconduct, one misdemeanor count of violation of duty in elections, and one misdemeanor count of failure to comply with the secretary of state. She was acquitted on two felony counts of criminal impersonation and one count of identity theft.

She is a self avowed election denier. However the convictions are more mundane. I am more interested in what you feel about a President threatening a state unless it releases (again...how?) a convicted felon serving their sentence on state charges.

Why are we locking people up for denying an election? What happened to the first amendment?

"not putting Peters in jail would allow her to speak publicly about the election security."

1St Amendment RIGHTS.

She's NOT denying there was an election; she's saying it was not secure. She DEMONSTRATED that it wasn't secure. Now how long should those who violated her rights get if she got NINE YEARS?? IF convicted.

Goose; meet gander!!

We aren't. See #28.

Again, I am more interested in what you feel about a President threatening a state unless it releases (again...how?) a convicted felon serving their sentence on state charges.

Burn a church, loot a small own business, firebomb a court house…you are just a peaceful protester and trump is a dictator for even sending the police

Question the security of a ballot box, then it’s prison times in a demafacist state

Lets go with that. What if someone is convicted of firebombing a state courthouse and the President demanded that person be released or there would be 'harsh measures' against the state?

Because democrats are fascist.

Only democrats are allowed to deny election results.
