Trump threatens 100% tariff on the BRIC bloc of nations if they act to undermine US dollar

Who does trump think he is ? King of the world ?
Yeah, and he is right.

Does he really believe he has the right to threaten the entire world.
What threat? If these countries don't think his tariffs are any big deal, they can take a hike, right? Its is a free world.

The man is insane.
TRANSLATION: Trump is about to act like a real leader for a change, a pro-America stand alone non-globalist fighting for America and embarrassing the democrat shitholes again. We got that. He is a REAL leader and a REAL alpha male. Must make you really pee your panties bad.

The world can get along fine without US.
Sure, that must be why everyone wants to come here and most every country's economy in the world is keyed off heavy trade will us! I mean our heavy importing of their goods.

Can we live as well as we do without them. I think not.
Yep, no chance we cannot get what they sell somewhere else, do without it, or MAKE IT FUCKING HERE. No chance, huh, loser.

We depend on them more than they depend on US. The future does not look well.
Take a hike, fuckwit. Ball-less cowards like you just drag us down. Get the hell out of the way.

I would imagine the threat of tariffs, or sanctions for that matter, carries more weight as a producer vs consumer nation....

These small countries depend on exporting produce and other local good to the USA's heavy consumption. Without it, they are screwed. On top of that, they count on massive good will from the USA in various kinds of AID. They may have been able to buffalo the useless old man and his clueless hosebag skank, but Trump has them by the short hairs and they know Trump is NOT a globalist player nor F-ing around.

Trump is a Kimber Ultra Carry II set to a hair trigger just waiting to stomp them a new mudhole if they are anything less than solid good friends.
Trump repays friendship and loyalty 10-fold.
Trump repays deceit and deception 100-fold.

Although we still produce a lot , we are more of a consumer nation
Not good to be.making threats of any kind.

All he knows is threats and intimidation. Even for our (former) allies. He knows nothing about macroeconomics.

America alone, led by a pseudo-theocracy. Okie dokie, here we go!

That's not true. America needs to refill the cup of wealth.

America cannot stop drinking , it's almost hopeless. That would require a great deal of hardship. We have become fat and lazy. The only people I see working that hard are the immigrants and trump wants to get ready of them. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Obama's fiscal responsibility cut Gold price in half after he rescued the Republican economic disaster. Then Trump's fiscal irresponsibility Doubled Gold prices.

Now he is getting serious. It is critical that the U.S reserve currency remain as such.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday threatened 100% tariffs against a bloc of nine nations if they act to undermine the U.S. dollar.

His threat was directed at countries in the so-called BRIC alliance, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Turkey, Azerbaijan and Malaysia have applied to become members and several other countries have expressed interest in joining.

While the U.S. dollar is by far the most-used currency in global business and has survived past challenges to its preeminence, members of the alliance and other developing nations say they are fed up with America’s dominance of the global financial system.

The dollar represents roughly 58% of the world’s foreign exchange reserves, according to the IMF and major commodities like oil are still primarily bought and sold using dollars. The dollar’s dominance is threatened, however, with BRICS’ growing share of GDP and the alliance’s intent to trade in non-dollar currencies — a process known as de-dollarization.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, said: “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.

That's not going to be easy.
It's going to have to offer them something in return.

Seriously?!

During Trump's last rodeo, so many of our farmers were slammed because China just went to South America to get their soybean and corn. So, what did small gummint Trump do? Subsidies to the farmers to compensate for their lost revenue.

That was in addition to higher prices we had to pay for stuff imported from China.

Simplistic pap might feel good but can (as it did in the last rodeo) hit us in our collective pocketbooks - well, not those of the very rich.
Trump was able to get the largest ag purchases in history from China.

Do you know how dependent China is on access to U.S markets?

If tomorrow the U.S blocked all trade with China, their economy would suffer exponentially worse damage than the U.S economy.
Since we import more from China than they do from US. I'd say we are the losers in this situation
if trump believes threats will bring China to terms all I can say is good luck with that. They have the rest of the world to deal with. Cutting US off at every turn.

No, you win as it will raise billions for the government and move manufacturing back to America. This creates jobs and a trickle down effect. Nothing is more important than self sufficiency and a thriving Middle Class.

Their economy relies more on exports to the US than we rely on exports to China?
Maybe they want to protect their export industries?
