WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said he’s dropping — for now — his push to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon, a move that comes after legal roadblocks hung up the effort.

Trump said in a social media post Wednesday that he’s removing the Guard troops for now. “We will come back, perhaps in a much different and stronger form, when crime begins to soar again - Only a question of time!” he wrote.

Troops had already left Los Angeles after the president deployed them earlier this year as part of a broader crackdown on crime and immigration. They had been sent to Chicago and Portland but were never on the streets as legal challenges played out.

Trump had no legal authority to deploy the N.G. in the first place. He kept losing in court because had constitutional grounds to deploy the N.G..

In other words, be back if there is a "real" emergency, rather than a "Trumped up" emergency.

even his pet supreme court judges ruled against him.

Your TDS is flaring up again!
How so? He is not thrilled the courts won't go along with it, but realizes without real emergency, he cannot use emergency powers in this manner. If there really is an emergency, he can. Did you hear something different?

It's not like it was successful when he did it, is it? Didn't change anything.

Which federal appeals court decided that?

Hey, you won one! Great job! That makes you 1 win and 765 losses for the season!

I didn't win. The country won. The Constitution and the rule of Law won. I simply took an oath to protect and defend, at one point in my life. I did nothing, but voice my opinion, supporting what the Constitution and rule of law said, exactly as it said it. The courts agreed. The Constitution and rule of law stand. I filed no brief. I didn't win. I was simply proven to correctly read and support what the Constitution said, by the courts. Hopefully, you do not consider the court decisions as losses. It wasn't. No matter, how you purposely piss me off, at times, you are an American. You won too, in the long run. To a conservative, it is the long run that counts, not immediate gratification.

The only people that really won are the illegals and protestors who are harassing ICE.

The illegals did not win. Federalized troops did not speed their deportation, nor will their being withdrawn keep them from being deported. Protestor protesting the deportation did not win. Deportation will continue. I do admit, those that protested against the military being sent to their cities, finally did get a victory, but it was a victory for all Americans, that support the Constitution, but it was a victory won in the courts, not on any protest line.

Trump doesn’t care about the law.

And there’s never been justification for Trump to deploy the National Guard anywhere.

Fine with me if the elected officials in these places don't care about the citizens of these cities and states let them burn. If they don't want the help move on and offer it to those who do.

Clueless. Simply clueless. An anti-American POS! Way to start the new year!
