Trump removes Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from office, citing fraud allegations

So err on the side of corruption? If it was possible, I would support suspension without pay pending an investigation. That isn't an option according to the law. Therefore, when it comes to those who supposedly serve the People, it is best err on the side of caution and increase public trust in our institutions. That is what the People voted for when electing Trump.
But he does almost nothing himself to cause public trust in our institutions.

Sure, an authoritarian that supports gun rights, less taxes and fewer government regulations. You guys can't just change definitions anytime it suits you.

Trump threatens ‘harsh measures’ if Tina Peters is not released from jail

This is authoritarianism.

Only in the eyes of the TDS afflicted. Removing woke nonsense from the federal government, focusing our military on warfighting and not a failed social experiment, removing corrupt officials and seditious holdovers, are all good steps in rebuilding trust in institutions so thoroughly corrupted by the like of Obama and Biden.

Donald Trump took over the DC Police on a whim and we aren't supposed to think he's authoritarian?
And as many as 20 young black males are alive because of it

Like the border wall? Funny how that wasn't an issue for four years. Seems a bit hypocritical.
The wind farm is a private development. The border wall was a federal project under direct control of the president.

Jesus, you guys are really ******* stupid.

Good! The statute seems to give him this authority.

More importantly, the Federal Reserve is part of which branch? It certainly isn't its own branch, as the Constitution has not been amended.

Here we go! Fasten your seatbelts.

President Donald Trump ousted Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday, alleging she lied on mortgage forms by declaring two primary residences.
In a letter to Cook, Trump said the Federal Reserve Act provides that she can be removed at his discretion.
"As set forth in the Criminal Referral dated August 15, 2025, from Mr. William J. Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to Ms. Pamela Bondi, Attorney General of the United States…there is sufficient reason to believe you may have made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements," Trump wrote. "For example, as detailed in the Criminal Referral, you signed one document attesting that a property in Michigan would be your primary residence for the next year.
"Two weeks later, you signed another document for a property in Georgia stating that it would be your primary residence for the next year," Trump continued. "It is inconceivable that you were not aware of your first commitment when making the second. It is impossible that you intended to honor both."
...

So, a President who was convicted of multiple counts of false misrepresentations in bank loan documents, tax filings, and contracts is now moving to dismiss a Fed director for ALLEGEDLY doing the same thing.

The hypocracy is as astounding as the arrogance.

The documents she signed are online for anyone to see. Zero doubt she committed fraud. Regardless, the ***** is gone. She can go quietly or pay lawyers a ton of money to achieve the same result. My hope is that she fights it and gets further humiliated. Since she's a Dim, and black, my guess is she fights it. I hope so.

Don’t hide your bigotry.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but the way Trump is behaving with taxes is very authoritarian. He's single handedly, without any input from Congress, levied hundreds of billions of dollars worth of taxes on Americans.

I'd consider that pretty authoritarian. Don't you?

That's weird, because inflation is lower than when Biden left office. Where are these mysterious taxes or are you just making that up based on what the "experts" have told you is going to happen? To date, from the data(ppi and cpi), it appears that the consumer is not paying for anything. I might also add, that he made his previous tax cuts permanent. That is not authoritarian at all.

Ignoring the gun control and deregulation points are duly noted.

So then Biden ignoring the Supreme Court's decision and cancelling student debt was authoritarian? Let me guess, that was different? I have many more examples if you would like to hear them.

They avoid that like the plague
