Trump removes Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from office, citing fraud allegations

What adjudications for mortgage fraud?

And you dot think a banker defrauding banks is malfeasance?
It says "in her job at the Reserve" from what I heard.... But if it turns out to be true, (right now we have only an accusation without hearing her side) then I think she should resign, because it did involve banking.

I see the usual suspects are still upset Trump can fire Cook with cause - and he has cause.

Of course, they believe Democrats are above the law, so...

what says "in her job at the Reserve.."?

....the President shall fix the term of the successor to such member at not to exceed fourteen years, as designated by the President at the time of nomination, but in such manner as to provide for the expiration of the term of not more than one member in any two-year period, and thereafter each member shall hold office for a term of fourteen years from the expiration of the term of his predecessor, unless sooner removed for cause by the President.

Isn't CAUSE defined in the agreement, malfeasance done in her job, while serving??

Also, past adjudicated mortgage fraud by Trump, did not stop him from being the President of the United States? Nor is reason to impeach him from office???
What agreement? The Federal Reserve Act governs her appointment

So far it hasn't been overturned....the money owed on one case against him has been denied or revoked for being too high, but that is being appealed too....even on that case the charges and conviction... or maybe it was a civil case? so liability was not revoked...just the penalty amount.
The appeal process is ongoing...
If Cook has no explanation and reason or defense for doing such, and she actually is guilty, and since it did involve banking...which is related to her position and job in an abstract way, she should probably resign...imo
She wants her day in court.
But many things are unknown in this case and all of these Trump cronies' accusations should have been kept under raps by the admin, and allowed her to show and prove it to be false...if not.... then make an announcement she is being replaced.
This unprofessional, govt chaos induced, vindictive shit, and bullying intimidation, HAS GOT TO STOP!
She got caught with probable mortgage fraud. The court will adjudicate.

Lisa Cook has not denied that she lied on two loan applications. From our Treasury Secty this morning:

“There are two kinds of people — there are people who think that President Trump is putting undue pressure on the Fed, and there are people like President Trump and myself who think that if a Fed official committed mortgage fraud, that this should be examined, and that they shouldn’t be serving as one of the nation’s leading financial regulators,” he said. “And what we haven’t heard from Miss Cook is we haven’t heard her say ‘I didn’t do it.’ We haven’t her say ‘I didn’t do it.'”

He continued, “She keeps saying the president can’t remove her. The other thing too, I have called in the recent past for an internal review of all the Fed’s operations, and I have encouraged Chair Powell to do this on an internal basis before there is an external review and this is the kind of thing that needs to be addressed because the Fed is an unaccountable institution and its relationship with the American people depends on a high level of trust. And incidents like this puncture that trust, so President Trump is trying to make sure that anyone who serves at this institution has the trust of the American people.”

In addition to firing Lisa I would support an audit of the Fed. Its never been done and its way past about time.
