Trump Praised Saudi Arabia's Shariah Law for Making It Easy for Men to Get Divorced
The time Donald Trump praised Shariah law in Saudi Arabia
Quote
In order to avoid admitting to cheating on his wife, Donald Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 97 times during his divorce proceedings with Ivana Trump in 1990, the Huffington Post reported Friday. So it should come as little surprise that Trump had kind words for a system that allows men to divorce their wives without going to court: Saudi Arabia's Shariah law.

The Republican presidential candidate praised the Islamic law, or Shariah, system during a 60-second syndicated daily radio commentary called "Trumped!" that he recorded from 2004 to 2008. In a January 2008 segment, Trump discussed a news story of a Saudi man who had divorced his wife for watching a television show while alone at home because, in Trump's telling, the husband considered it tantamount to being alone with a strange man.

"Men in Saudi Arabia have the authority to divorce their wives without going to the courts," Trump said. "I guess that would also mean they don't need prenuptial agreements. The fact is, no courts, no judges—Saudi Arabia sounds like a very good place to get a divorce."

Donald Trump is a disgusting pig.

Marriage is a thing of the past. Only a fool would put his head in that noose in this day and age. All risk, and no gain.

There's some truth to that. Marriage is for women, it benefits men in no way whatsoever.
It only opens the man up to lose half of his assets. It truly is a pointless endeavor. There's nothing a man can do, as a married man; that an unmarried man cannot do. Whether that be for his woman, kids, or himself. In point of fact. I would find it irresponsible to get married especially if you have children. As a parent you are the steward of your child's inheritance. It's up to you to see that as much of it as possible, is intact when you pass away. Giving half of your child's inheritance away, to a woman who didn't hold up her end of a deal; is not only foolish, and irresponsible, it's bad parenting.

Too complicated. I think a tweet should be enough...

Couldn't agree more. Unless you are going to have kids and need to pass down the family name, I just see no real reason to get married.

"Honey, we've been together a long time now. I love you--you love me, and we have this fantastic thing going on. The only thing that could make it better is if we get government involved in our relationship."

Sorry, I can't see it. It's the reason I stayed single all of my life. I had it figured out early.

This guy likes a extremist islamic countries laws and yet his loserterian base is going to vote in lock step for this idiot. hahaha

Correct. And just think, if he loves Islam so much and actually becomes President, the next thing you know, he'll be giving them hundreds of millions of dollars to make nuclear weapons or to pay them off to get American hostages back.
