Trump pardons Rudy Giuliani and others involved in bid to overturn 2020 election

The pardons may be largely symbolic as none of the people listed were convicted of federal crimes, which the presidential pardon covers.

President Donald Trump has pardoned Rudy Giuliani and scores of others accused of involvement in the effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election, Trump's pardon attorney said late Sunday.

Ed Martin posted a proclamation on X, which says Giuliani and scores of others will be pardoned for alleged activities linked to the 2020 election. Martin was replying to his own X message from May in which he said "No MAGA left behind."

Trump has yet to comment publicly. NBC News has asked the White House for comment.

Boy, this will really set the dem's hair on fire if it's true.

I'm not a Rudy fan and think that he bilked Trump out of money for his own gain.

I am saying get rid of the presidential pardon. Have all of the interworkings you currently have but leave it to 3 of the SCOTUS justices to vote on whether or not a pardon is issued. The most senior, the fifth most senior, and the newest justice sit on a committee that meets every January to consider pardons.

Pardons are being given out as rewards...not correcting bad convictions.

Doubtful that he would ever pardon her. Maxwell and Epstein were popular figures among the Democrats through the 80's and 90's. Once Trump became a Republican, he figured out what they were doing and broke ties with them.

I don't care about political party on an issue like this sex trafficking and grooming of minor girls to be prostitutes ring, which is serious, and should be the farthest thing from being political to you as well....

Due process for any/all persons, or due process for no persons.... That's how it works...imo

The constitution says no person being arrested for criminal offenses......(it lists a bunch of things prohibiting the govt doing to all persons, including this one below)

...nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law

There could be an argument made by govt stating that they did not commit a criminal offense, are not criminals and are not being held as criminals, but are simply being deported under immigration policy and not being imprisoned and deprived of liberty, perhaps?
