The question is: how badly does the EU want to start WWIII?

The only practical question here is simple: are Americans truly peace-lovers and French - agressive suiciders; or Americans just try to use French as suicide ram against Russia (as they use Ukraine). In practical terms it means - what is safer for Russia:
1) Eliminate France and then try to make mutually acceptable peace with America;
2) Eliminate America and then try to make mutually acceptable peace with France;
3) Eliminate both America and Europe and then try to re-establish peace in world with help of BRICS countries.

The EU is a shell of itself. Trump's best play was to tell Putin that the USA and Russia should be partners going forward. A relationship based upon mutual respect. No need for NATO, no need for 700 military bases and bioweapon labs all over the world.

If you really want to blame someone, blame the Europeans who continue to buy Russian oil and gas, while funneling weapons to Ukraine in a move guaranteed to keep them at each other until they're all dead.

Both countries destroyed actually suits Western Europe just fine, no competition from lower wage rivals.

Hungary and Slovakia still receive oil via the Druzhba pipeline under specific EU exemptions, with Croatia importing some refined products. That is the extent of it. Europe buys 3% of what it did, fix that stupid shit with Orban and that will go away for the most part

It might be nice, but I"m not sure that Russia can agree with this nice proposal. And anyway, it's not opinion of US decision-makers, as far as I know. Actual proposal, as far as I heard - it is C5 format.
