In a Republic, actually
‘The Trump administration released a memo Monday that aims to protect religious expression among federal workers, outlining that employees can attempt to persuade co-workers about why their religious beliefs are “correct.”

The memo outlined conduct that should not result in disciplinary or corrective action, including displaying in the office bibles, religious artwork, jewelry, posters displaying religious messages and other indicia of religion “such as crosses, crucifixes and mezuzah.”

The memo also said one or more employees should be allowed to engage in individual or communal religious expressions and that employees can engage in conversations on religious topics “including attempting to persuade others of the correctness of their own religious views, provided that such efforts are not harassing in nature.” Federal workers can also “encourage their coworkers to participate in religious expressions of faith, such as prayer, to the same extent that they would be permitted to encourage coworkers participate in other personal activities,” the memo said.

Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Scott Kupor sent the memo to heads of departments and agencies with guidance on how to allow personal religious expression by federal employees “to the greatest extent possible unless such expression would impose an undue hardship on business operations.” The OPM worked with the White House Faith Office to produce the memo, a spokesperson told The Hill. President Trump established the office in February.’

A distraction from Epstein by directing that Federal employees should go ahead and violate the Constitution.

I remember a Muslim co-worker was trying to get me interested in Islam. I listened to him politely and respected his beliefs but never took to them. The biggest surprise to me at the time was him telling me that Muslims believe in Jesus (just not as the Messiah). That really made me think, it was a learning experience I suppose.

I dated a muslim guy for awhile. At his urging I took instruction from the Imam at his mosque. I have a Quran and read it cover to cover. It is the stuff of nightmares. On my worst day, and I mean when I was paying my way through law school by beating men's asses with a paddle, I could not have imagined anything as vile as that Quran and those teachings.

Yes, Jesus is spoken about as a heretic claiming to be the son of God. Keep in mind that Mohammed followed Jesus by some 700 years.

Just more distractions. Very, very, very few have any desire to get into some big religious spat at work.

What is the violation?

There is no violation of the constitution in saying normal water cooler chit chat won't get you sent to human resources. People need to relearn how to interact with humans who are different than them instead of demanding the whole universe be their safe space.

I don't think there's anything in the Koran that wouldn't seem more "vile" in the context of modern culture than the Biblical Old Testament:

Granted, the books were written in ancient cultures thousands of years ago, so I don't judge them by modern standards:

If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29he shall pay her father fifty shekels c of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Although retired, if I was still working and a coworker walked up to me and asked me if I wanted to learn anything about Islam, I would inform him that no amount of conversation would change my mind that Islam is the most vile and evil religion on the planet and that at least the followers of the other two Abrahamic religions have advanced enough to not be incompatible with western civilization.

And will it stand up in court. 50/50 seeing how corrupt the Supreme Court is.

Are you sure about that?

Meh. No biggie. If someone starts bugging you just put up a pic of Baal and counter about the benefits of child sacrifice. If its your boss sue the crap out of them for harassment.

Yes, this is a distraction. Single minded, or is it the simple minded can only think of one thing and nothing more.

Remember, democrats can not walk and chew gum at the same time.

I say it would be debatable that Satanism or child sacrifice is a legitimate religion, or have any protection under our laws.

The Epstein saga is fading just like every other saga fades. There's no need for any distraction the American public has a hideously short attention span and will very quickly clasp on to the next scandal regardless of who is involved.
Most people are aware of the fact that there's only interest in it because political opponents believe they can gain some traction from what they don't yet know and are hoping to prove.
Unfortunately it fits into the same old tired pattern of constant attack that cost the Dems the White House and the legislature.. whereas there would normally be some type of pendulous flip in the midterms the constant negative energy from the left they will ensure that the Republicans will hold both houses straight through Trump's full four years.
