“WASHINGTON, June 3 (Reuters) - A Florida-based federal emergency response team that reopens U.S. ports after storms and accidents is unstaffed this hurricane season largely due to widespread federal workforce reductions driven by the Trump administration, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The closure of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s Navigation Response Team in Fernandina, Florida – one of the network’s six national locations - could mean slower response times and longer port closures if hurricanes slam into the U.S. Southeast this summer, the sources said.”

"If hurricanes slam into the U.S. Southeast this summer"

When hurricanes slam into the US Southeast – likely Florida, again.

If there really needs to be fed approval then the USCG has a presence in ever major port in the land so those NOAA vessels could be transferred to the USCG and operated by same.

Cheaper too because USCG tech rating don't make those six figure salaries.

Yes....just might possibly could be hopefully cause the world to come to an end. :lame2:

Funny how you folks can't even wait for something bad to happen anymore.

You just predict something bad will happen and thus in your minds it's already happened. :laugh2:

More Bull Crap by CCJ:
NOAA assists in the re-opening of ports after storms. The US Coast Guard is the main agency tasked with reopening ports and the waterways.
