It is definitely a slippery slope and Trump has to be cautious of being dragged into a situation which will motivate Dem voters to come out against him in the midterms, while also alienating so many of the young GOP. I read social media and it is a real danger with young.voters, though his potential position on decreasing the class of weed IS popular. The Independents and Libertarians are the voters both sides battle for, not the hard left or.right who.are on board. If I am Trump I insist that city officials hold a referendum of voters to judge their response since theynwont ever hold it. Also, he must ensure it is only for 30 days. Regardless, the images of soldiers on the street will be his legacy, right or wrong, he is.surely aware that the MSM is still not his fan and they will be writing history. Thy will look to overlook his raising of revenue through tariffs, fair trade deals, mass deportation to remove terrorists and hardened criminals and will instead show images of soldiers on the streets of big cities.

I'd imagine that once this idea spreads beyond Washington DC, which is directly under Trump's pervue, then we'll start seeing lawsuits as he moves into individual cities.

So the question then will be whether that stops him, regardless of the outcome of the lawsuits.

Trump would simply like to have Federal Troops on the ground in American cities. The difference is that in general, municipal police prefer to drive around until they receive a call. If local police had far more officers walking.around in pairs and threes.rather than staying in cars, they could achieve the same success. No one commits crime when police on foot are around.

Most of Chicago's violent crime is crooks killing other crooks. Very hard to police this. "Rap sheets a mile long" are the problem. After so many convictions these career criminals should remain in prison for life. Everyone in the system, including judges, know that they cannot be rehabilitated. The only solution is for them to "age out" of their criminal behavior...behind bars.
