They are doing it strategically, that's the problem. Much like when Ontario was targetting Michigan for energy export tariffs. Canada is also talking about specifically targetting U.S states that Trump won. Trying to hurt him politically.

Actually, The EU and many many other countries started it all with Tariffs and VAT's
long ago. We finally have a president who is tired of the US getting screwed.
Life can be a bitch at times, huh?

We had trade agreements negotiated with Europe and Canada. Europe had some tariffs on us and we had some tariffs on them.

The only people getting screwed with Trump's trade war are those with 401ks watching their portfolios dive and the price of goods rise.

The Wall Street Journal has called Trump's trade war the dumbest ever. It figures MAGAs would be in favor of it.

Canada was going to lose without tariffs, we are a caste system de facto police that, bankrupting our nation, suppressing freedom and rewarding the lowest performers. We aren't built for the competitive economies of 2025, all Trump is doing is speeding up the process.
