Is there some particularly strong reason for assuming that Bolton doesn’t deserve to be prosecuted?

Specifically, if he did illegally mishandle classified information, why does he not deserve to get prosecuted? Why should he get a “pass?”

If he were to be investigated for such suspected criminal violations of our laws solely because he has been a Trump critic, you might be on firmer ground.

But if he actually did mishandle classified materials and violate the provisions of the Espionage Act, then the fact that he is a Trump critic is immaterial.
