Therefore many of us feel there is a need for atonement.

Modern technology means that " imminent deadly threat" can occur within hours to minutes and leave little room for deliberation before immediate response is needed or lost forever.

While you might be willing to die in order not to punish too soon those who would attack our nation, many to most of us would choose not to error in caution upon such flimsy foundations.

We can arrange for you to be a martyr to the cause of your choice, but the majority of us who understand the text and implications of this sort of situation will respond differently.

We would choose any and all defensive measures available, while flipping the conditions from an attack upon our nation to an attack upon the belligerent Nation(s) that are/is trying to attack us.

If Iran’s uranium is already enriched to 60%, which we know it is, why? What need does any nation have for enrichment to 60% if not to develop nuclear weapons?

Now, how long does it take to further enhance such uranium to weapons’ grade enhancement level of ~90%?

All "wars" are a matter of choice because if one side decides not to resist the aggression and assaults of an attacking/invading foreign agent then there is no "war" since such has to be a two-way engagement.

Your country attacks mine, starts to conquer and take land, etc.; if I don't resist than there is no "war".
There is only blatant aggression and violence against my nation and people, a crime that is unresisted.

Were we/my nation to choose to resist your nation's violence and aggression with violence and counter-aggression of our own, then we have a "War".

"War" is a two-way enterprise and requires mutual agreement of both sides to be a "war". Otherwise we just have attack/invasion/conquest with no resistance and free pillage, looting, rape, etc. of the side that chose not to resist (not fight/engage in war) by the side that is the aggressor.

The side receiving the assaults/attacks, if it chooses to resist with similar violence has then made a "choice" for war.
