I called for the presidential pardon to be done away with numerous times during Biden's Administration.

I'd get rid of the presidential pardon and have a 3 judge panel of the Most senior, Most Junior and a third Supreme Court Justice decide on all pardons. Pardons can be requested by anyone who petitions the court for a pardon and the ones that pass that triage get considered four times a year--once per quarter except in the last year of a presidential term. Meaning that there are no more midnight pardons on the way out the door.

On a small upside to it...it may finally wake up enough people to realize that we should get rid of the presidential pardon.

I would be the happiest person on earth if we got rid of the presidential pardon. It’s about 230 years past the time this should have been done. Still have pardons; still have a White House office on pardons. But have a 3 judge panel of the Supreme Court justices decide who gets one. Presidents dangle pardons for favorable actions. That isn’t the intent of it and its become a way for the connected to get around the law--as it would be with Hunter Biden.

Having said that, few voters in the nation would not pardon their kid in this case if they had the power to do it.

Yeah, thats what I mean. I don’t think there should be a presidential pardon. Its one of those things we do that doesn’t make a lick of sense--like having an even number of Electoral College electors---it’s flat out stupid.

But I don’t think anyone would hold it against Biden if he did use the pardon in this case.

It highlights the craziness of having the Presidential Pardon. I have no idea who these people are. But were they any less guilty on 12/23/2023 or 12/23/2022???? Nope. Why didn't he pardon them then? Clearly the answer was that it is a political calculation. Keep in mind he didn't overturn their convictions or set them free (the way Trump is going to) but they lived under the threat of lethal injection for years for no reason.

Those on the right want a TRUE alternative to business as usual.

We want President Obama put out to pasture, but not to be replaced by some Dem-lite version of all the crap he stands for.

Of course we want a nominee who can defeat the Nincompoop in Chief. But that is FAR from the only consideration. For again, there's not much point in replacing him with a liberal RINO type who will likely continue us more or less down the same path of failure -- just at a slower rate.
