It was never sustainable and it is not an overly popular policy. As I said before, at least politically; I don't see these actions as being of benefit to him or the GOP. The images of soldiers on the streets along with any violent arrests.are what his adversaries want and they may get. The biggest issues are jobs, illegal immigration (which stifles wages as well).and cost of living (which more spending will only hurt). His team does a poor job of promoting the $1000 Index Investment each newborn receives,.that shuld be a huge win for him. He can also help his case by being more libertarian on the classification of weed for instance. The surges in major cities to me isn't a campaign promise and it doesn't impact 99.9% of the electorate. I can see some utility of.a surge of agents in a large city, but he can't overuse it. Nor will it prevent crime long term.

As soon as the latest Democrat temper tantrum is settled, Republicans in Congress need to take charge of that city, appoint an interim manager and spend two to three years turning that police force into a real crime-fighting organization.
