Anyhow...the real story of how Johnny got his name The Man In Black. There was a suit maker from who moved to LA and was the tailor to the star....specializing in embroidered suits popular in the 70's.

Johnny (or one of his peps) calls him and tells him JC is going on the road and needs some suits made. Well what does he want...the guy asks...I don't know just make him some suits. So Manuel made and sent him (eg) 7 black suits all the same.

I read that in a lengthy article about the embroidery tailors of the time.
