Why is our birthrate declining than?

My wife and I had three kids. We replaced ourselves plus one. My oldest daughter and her husband have three between them, so they are plus one. My son and his wife have a daughter, so they are minus one. My younger daughter is not married but may soon. They do not plan to have children as they are both in their 30s. My next generation is therefore carrying a two-person deficit.

My brother had no children, so my extra one leave him down one.

I am sure other families are the same.

It is sort of a big deal. A decline in births is exponential. If each woman has to have two kids to replace the population, going down to one means the next generation will need to have 4 kids to keep the population stable.
