Donald Trump's new executive order, titled "Implementing the President's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Workforce Optimization Initiative," outlines exactly how Trump and Elon Musk plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and strip transitioning military veterans and their families overseas of the generous federal hiring incentives they rely on.

This executive order seeks to impose severe hiring restrictions and would disproportionately harm veterans, who make up one-third of the federal workforce. Requiring agencies to hire only one new employee for every four who leave will drastically reduce VA staffing levels. At a time when the veteran population is aging and the VA's mission has expanded under Biden, this policy will lead to massive delays and outright denials in health care, benefits processing, and disability claims - the essential services veterans depend on to survive.

The order also forces agencies to implement immediate reductions in force, prioritizing cuts to positions not explicitly mandated by law. In practice, this means slashing administrative staff, veteran outreach programs, and transition assistance. Many of these programs help veterans adjust to civilian life, with federal employment serving as a stable career path for thousands. Active-duty military members stationed overseas also rely on these programs for critical support, from child care to helping their spouses secure employment in foreign countries where they may lack language skills or legal work status.

I wonder what veterans are thinking now.

Here is even more.

In a news conference about the worst air crash in the United States in two decades, Trump claimed the agency was “actively recruiting workers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities and psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under diversity and inclusion hiring initiatives.”

The remarks, made without evidence, touched off anxiety and frustration among federal employees with disabilities, many of them military veterans, who spoke with USA TODAY on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation.

“Blaming disabled individuals for a plane crash speaks to a mentality of not believing disabled people are suited to valuable work,” a disabled National Park Service staffer said.

Now watch the Trump Humpers run in here trying to defend this garbage.

I'm friends with many vets, including three retired colonels. They all LOVE Trump.

.

My late AF Veteran husband voted for him in 2016 and would have voted for him if he'd been cognitively capable of doing so in 2020.

He was afraid to tell his three children that he had voted for Trump, but we sat in bed on Inauguration Day in 2017, sipping coffee and weeping with happiness as we watched the inauguration. I wish that he could see what President Trump is doing now. He'd be weeping with joy!

So you oppose rooting out waste, fraud, abuse and corruption in government. That doesn’t surprise me.

Let's take the military as a whole, how many men are actually getting an operation to be a woman? 1 maybe, yea that is really throwing off military readiness.

Well we have been waiting for over 8yrs for that Great Healthcare Plan Trump said he had.
The one shoved down our throats is costing more and more. Since progs do not want to see prices coming down, then we know our nation is finished when they come to power again.
